The Human Resources Department

Overseen by the Vicar General/Moderator of the Curia, the Human Recourses Department is responsible for all areas related to employment in the Diocese.  Mindful of civil law and the protections and restrictions it places on employers and employees, the HR department is pledged to support pastors, administrators and employees in a caring Christian manner that will integrate best business practices with Gospel values.

Services include guidance in recruiting, job postings, employment compliance issues, personnel policy manuals, job descriptions and the performance evaluation process.  Workshops and in-services on employment issues are provided on a regular basis.  The Human Resources Department also serves as a consultant for the search committee process both in the parishes and at the Diocesan level.

HR staff is especially committed to the protection of the children of the Diocese and carries out this mission by overseeing the mandated background check process and providing procedures to assure that all employees and volunteers are adequately trained in the diocesan Safe Conduct Protocols by competent, certified trainers throughout the Diocese.

HR staff visits parishes and attend meeting throughout the diocese to keep abreast of areas of concern.  Staff members attend professional conferences and local personnel association meeting in order to assure that their expertise remains updated and relevant to promote the visibility of the Church in the business community.
