Pastoral Office for Administration (POA)

The Pastoral Office for Administration conducts the financial affairs of the Central Administration. In keeping with our Diocesan Mission Statement, we are committed to responsible stewardship of our financial resources.

A primary role is overseeing the redemption phase of Fruitful Harvest, the diocese’s biennial fund-raising appeal. Fruitful Harvest funds allow us to not only support the bishop’s diocesan offices and programs, but also numerous charities, both national and international. However, historically, the greatest beneficiaries of Fruitful Harvest are the parishes.

To assist us in our ongoing goal of responsible financial stewardship, the office supports the Diocesan Finance Council (DFC). The DFC is made up of members from religious, financial, legal and technological backgrounds. They advise the bishop on financial matters, including departmental budgets and financial planning for parish growth. With the continuing growth of our parish families, we are grateful to be able to avail ourselves of their expertise.

The Pastoral Office for Administration oversees and administers the diocesan insurance plans including property and liability insurance,  medical and dental insurance, the flexible spending account and the retirement plans for both Clergy and Lay employees. Our staff also takes care of the day-to-day details of accounts payable, payroll, facilities management and overseeing diocesan investments. Office personnel also conduct parish administrative reviews with the principal purpose of assisting the parish, the Pastor, and volunteers to be more effective in meeting the responsibilities of stewardship of the parish financial resources.
