Diocesan Mission Statement

The Mission of the Catholic people of Northcentral Indiana is to proclaim the Kingdom of God, to praise the name of Jesus and follow Him by:

o loving God and our neighbor especially those in need;

o worshipping God as a faith community in word and sacrament;

o responding to ongoing personal conversion;

o teaching of the Gospel message in the Catholic tradition; and

o engaging in renewal, outreach, evangelization and ecumenical cooperation.

We, the people of the Local Church, gathered by the power of the Holy Spirit, are committed to responsible stewardship of our human and financial resources.

Pastoral Office of Education and Youth Catechesis Statement of Purpose

The Pastoral Office for Education and Youth Catechesis provides direction, consultation, and staff development opportunities for pastors, principals and teachers of the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana.

The Director of the Pastoral Office of Education and Youth Catechesis is available for facilitating the role of local school advisory committees, search committees and other parish groups providing direction to school related issues and events.

We collaborate with and support families in the formation of their children as faith-filled leaders and participating members in the building up of our Church, now and in the future. We do this by:

o celebrating faith together;

o modeling Catholic practices and values;

o teaching Catholic beliefs and traditions;

o demonstrating service within the parish and the civic community.

o In this way the “kingdom of God” is established in our world.
